Alcohol-Induced Hsp90 Acetylation Is a Novel Driver of Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Dysfunction and Alcohol-Related Liver Disease

Primary human, rat and mouse liver sinusoidal endothelial cells were used. Histone deacetylase 6 was overexpressed specifically in liver endothelial cell via adeno-associated virus-mediated gene delivery to decrease Hsp90 acetylation in ethanol-fed mice.

Dual Role of Endothelial Myct1 in Tumor Angiogenesis and Tumor Immunity

Researchers report that Myct1, a direct target of ETV2, was nearly exclusively expressed in endothelial cells. In preclinical mouse tumor models, Myct1 deficiency reduced angiogenesis, enhanced high endothelial venule formation, and promoted anti-tumor immunity, leading to restricted tumor progression.

SUMOylation Promotes Extracellular Vesicle-Mediated Transmission of lncRNA ELNAT1 and Lymph Node Metastasis in Bladder Cancer

The authors identified that bladder cancer (BCa) cell-secreted extracellular vesicles mediated the intercellular communication with human lymphatic endothelial cells through the transmission of a long noncoding RNA ELNAT1, and promoted lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis in a SUMOylation-dependent manner in both cultured BCa cell lines and mouse models.

A Venous-Specific Purinergic Signaling Cascade Initiated by Pannexin 1 Regulates TNFα-Induced Increases in Endothelial Permeability

Researchers studied the effects of the proinflammatory cytokine TNFα on transendothelial permeability and electrophysiology in ex vivo murine veins and arteries.

    Abstract

Tumor Cells Express Functional Lymphatic Endothelium-Specific Hyaluronan Receptor In Vitro and In Vivo: Lymphatic Mimicry Promotes Oral Oncogenesis?

Investigators uncovered a previously unknown expression and function of lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaluronic acid receptor 1 (LYVE-1) in oral squamous cell carcinoma, whereby tumor cells could induce lymphatic mimicry formation and promote lymphatic metastasis.

Proteomics of REPLICANT Perfusate Detects Changes in the Metastatic Lymph Node Microenvironment

Scientists compared reactive and macrometastatic axillary lymph node by combining whole section multiplex immunofluorescence with TMT-labelled LC-MS/MS of the circulating perfusate.

HIF2A Gain-of-Function Mutation Modulates the Stiffness of Smooth Muscle Cells and Compromises Vascular Mechanics

Researchers generated hypoxia-inducible factor 2α (HIF2A) gain-of-function induced pluripotent stem cells and differentiated them into endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells.

A Pilot Trial of Intravital Microscopy in the Study of the Tumor Vasculature of Patients with Peritoneal Carcinomatosis

Investigators hypothesized that human intravital microscopy (HIVM) would be feasible in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). During cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for PC, HIVM was performed in both tumor and non-tumor areas.

Cutaneous and Hepatic Vascular Lesions Due to a Recurrent Somatic GJA4 Mutation Reveal a Pathway for Vascular Malformation

The authors found that the mutant induced changes in cell morphology and activated SGK1, a serine/threonine kinase known to regulate cell proliferation and apoptosis, via non-canonical activation.
