    Identification
of Human Long Non-Coding RNAs Associated with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and Metabolic Homeostasis

Scientists experimentally demonstrated the responsiveness of selected hepatic long non-coding (lnc)RNAs to defined metabolic milieus in a liver-specific humanized mouse model. By extracting a concise list of protein-coding genes that were persistently correlated with lncRNAs in general and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease populations, they predicted the specific function for each human lncRNA metabolic regulator.

    Identification
of a Dynamic Gene Regulatory Network Required for Pluripotency Factor-Induced Reprogramming of Mouse Fibroblasts and Hepatocytes

The authors investigated the early transcriptional events of cellular reprogramming triggered by the co‐expression of Oct4, Sox2, Klf4, and c‐Myc in mouse embryonic fibroblasts and mouse hepatocytes.

    Prominin-1-Radixin
Axis Controls Hepatic Gluconeogenesis by Regulating PKA Activity

Investigators analyzed the levels of mRNA transcripts in serum‐starved primary WT and KO mouse hepatocytes using RNA sequencing data, and found that cyclic AMP response element‐binding protein target genes were downregulated.

Type I Interferon Signaling Reprograms Metabolism and Reveals a Novel Compensatory Mechanism of the Tryptophan-Kynurenine Pathway in Viral Hepatitis

IFN-I specifically rewired tryptophan metabolism and induced hepatic tryptophan oxidation to kynurenine via Tdo2, correlating with altered concentrations of serum metabolites upon viral infection.

    Shrimp
Shells Extracted Chitin in Silver Nanoparticle Synthesis: Expanding Its Prophecy towards Anticancer Activity in Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma HepG2 Cells

The well-organized, simplistic, and biological route of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was synthesized using shrimp shell extracted chitin as reducing, capping and stabilizing factor under the optimized conditions. The anticancer potential of synthesized biogenic AgNPs was evaluated against human hepatocarcinoma cells.

    Abstract

    hnRNPU
Functions as a Novel Therapeutic Target of c‐Myc in the Progression of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

c‐Myc regulated hnRNPU expression at the transcriptional level, and meanwhile hnRNPU stabilized the mRNA of c‐MYC. Investigators found that the hnRNPU and c‐Myc regulatory loop exerted a synergistic effect on the proliferation and self‐renewal of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and promoted HCC progression.
