Hepatocyte Dedifferentiation Profiling in Alcohol-Related Liver Disease Identifies CXCR4 as a Driver of Cell Reprogramming

Researchers described that hepatocyte dedifferentiation was associated with disease severity and a reduced synthetic capacity of the liver. Moreover, they identify the CXCR4 pathway as a driver of hepatocyte dedifferentiation and as a therapeutic target in alcohol-related hepatitis.

Remodeling Collagen Microenvironment in Liver Using a Biomimetic Nano-Regulator for Reversal of Liver Fibrosis

A biomimetic nano-regulator was developed to affect both collagen synthesis and degradation in the liver to remodel the collagen microenvironment. Scientists found that Zn (II) interference could efficiently inhibit collagen synthesis in activated hepatic stellate cells, affecting many fibrosis-related signaling pathways.

Matrisome Gene-Based Subclassification of Patients with Liver Fibrosis Identifies Clinical and Molecular Heterogeneities

Investigators used transcriptomic profiles from liver fibrosis cases of different etiologies, to identify and validate liver fibrosis-specific matrisome genes, and their clinical and biological relevance.

    Abstract

Hepatocyte CD36 Modulates UBQLN1-Mediated Proteasomal Degradation of Autophagic SNARE Proteins Contributing to Septic Liver Injury

Scientists found that the expression of CD36 in hepatocytes was increased in patients and a mouse model with sepsis, accompanied by impaired autophagy flux.

    Abstract

Collagen I-DDR1 Signaling Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Stemness via Hippo Signaling Repression

Investigators found that in advanced HCC tissues, collagen I was upregulated, which was consistent with the expression of its receptor DDR1. Collagen I-induced DDR1 activation enhanced HCC cell stemness in vitro and in vivo.

    Abstract

TNF-α/IL-1β-Licensed hADSCs Alleviate Cholestatic Liver Injury and Fibrosis in Mice via COX-2/PGE2 Pathway

Researchers suggested that TNF-α/IL-1β pretreatment enhances the efficacy of adipose tissue-derived stem cells in mice with cholestatic liver injury, partially through the COX-2/PGE2 pathway.

KDM4C Silencing Inhibits Cell Migration and Enhances Radiosensitivity by Inducing CXCL2 Transcription in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Scientists found that KDM4C protein expression was increased in HCC and promotes HCC cell growth, proliferation, and migration.

SYVN1 Ubiquitinates FoxO1 To Induce β-Catenin Nuclear Translocation, PD-L1-Mediated Metastasis, and Immune Evasion of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

SYVN1 regulated FoxO1 ubiquitination to stimulate β-catenin nuclear translocation and promoted PD-L1-mediated metastasis and immune evasion in HCC.

Important Oncogenic and Immunogenic Roles of SPP1 and CSF1 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Researchers analyzed the oncogenic and immunologic roles of SPP1 and CSF1 in HCC. They found that the expression levels of SPP1 and CSF1 in HCC were markedly increased and positively correlated.
