Microglia Promote Glioblastoma via mTOR-Mediated Immunosuppression of the Tumor Microenvironment

Investigators showed that glioblastoma (GBM)‐initiating cells induced mTOR signaling in the microglia but not bone marrow‐derived macrophages in both in vitro and in vivo GBM mouse models.

Circulating Immune Cell Phenotype Dynamics Reflect the Strength of Tumor–Immune Cell Interactions in Patients during Immunotherapy

Using an ecological population model, fitted to clinical tumor burden and immune cell abundance data from each patient, scientists found evidence of a strong tumor-circulating immune cell interaction in responder patients but not in those patients that progress on treatment.

Human Gingiva-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Are Therapeutic in Lupus Nephritis through Targeting of CD39−CD73 Signaling Pathway

Gingiva derived-mesenchymal stem cells limited the development of autoantibodies as well as proteinuria, decreases the frequency of plasma cells and lupus nephritis histopathological scores by directly suppressing B cells activation, proliferation and differentiation.

    Abstract

BCALM (AC099524.1) Is a Human B Lymphocyte-Specific Long Noncoding RNA That Modulates B Cell Receptor–Mediated Calcium Signaling

lncRNA interactome, RNA immunoprecipitation, and coimmunoprecipitation studies identified BCR-mediated Ca+ signaling (BCALM)-interacting proteins in B cells, including phospholipase D 1, and kinase adaptor proteins AKAP9 and AKAP13.

Identification of Novel Genes Associated with Dysregulation of B Cells in Patients with Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome

The authors identified the molecular mechanism of dysregulation of B cell subpopulations of primary Sjögren’s syndrome at the transcriptome level.

Difference in Presence and Number of CD83+ Dendritic Cells in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease

There were 154 subjects included in this study: 60 with ulcerative colitis, 19 with Crohn’s disease and 75 in the control group. Colonic biopsy was performed in all subjects. Specimens were incubated with a primary anti-CD83 antibody.

Evidence for a Role of RUNX1 as Recombinase Cofactor for TCRβ Rearrangements and Pathological Deletions in ETV6-RUNX1 ALL

Scientists employed a RUNX1 knock-out mouse model and demonstrated by deep TCRβ sequencing, immunostaining and chromatin immunoprecipitation that RUNX1 binds to the initiation site of TCRβ rearrangement and its homozygous inactivation induced severe structural changes of the rearranged TCRβ gene, whereas heterozygous inactivation had almost no impact.
