SIRT1 Is Downregulated by Autophagy in Senescence and Aging

Scientists report that macroautophagy, a catabolic membrane trafficking pathway that degrades cellular components through autophagosomes and lysosomes, mediated the downregulation of mammalian SIRT1 protein during senescence and in vivo aging.

Interleukin-8 as a Candidate for Thymoma Identification and Recurrence Surveillance

Scientists identified interleukin-8 as a biomarker for auxiliary diagnosis of thymoma. They found that IL-8 levels in naïve T cells were markedly elevated in patients with thymoma compared to those with other thymic tumors.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein 7 Promotes Resistance to Immunotherapy

Serum antibody-epitope repertoire analysis was performed on patient serum to identify tumor-specific neoepitopes. Somatic mutation-specific neoepitopes were investigated by associating serum epitope enrichment scores with whole-genome sequencing results from paired solid-tumor metastasis biopsies and germline blood samples.

Function of Pulmonary Group 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells Is Controlled by Regnase-1

The associations between Regnase-1 in group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) and human diseases were investigated by transcriptome analysis and a bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis mouse model. The clinical significance of Regnase-1 in ILC2s was further assessed using patients-derived cells.

RNA Methyltransferases METTL3/14 Regulate Immune Responses to Anti-PD-1 Therapy

Researchers showed that inhibition of N6‐methyladenosine mRNA modification by depletion of methyltransferases enhanced response to anti‐PD‐1 treatment in mismatch‐repair‐proficient or microsatellite instability‐low colorectal cancer and melanoma.

T Cells Expressing a CD19 CAR-T Receptor Provide Insights into Mechanisms of Human CD19-Positive β Cell Destruction

Coculturing CD19-expressing β-like cells and CD19 CAR-T cells resulted in T cell-mediated β-like cell death with release of activated T cell cytokines.

Landscape in Patients with Advanced Prostate Cancer

A protein-based immunome-wide association study was performed to identify significantly enriched epitopes, and candidate serum antibodies enriched in select patients were validated by ELISA profiling.

    Epigenomics
and Transcriptomics of Systemic Sclerosis CD4+ T Cells Reveal Long-Range Dysregulation of Key Inflammatory Pathways Mediated by Disease-Associated Susceptibility Loci

Scientists identified 9112 and 3929 differentially methylated CpG positions (DMPs) and differentially expressed genes (DEGs), respectively. These DMPs and DEGs were enriched in functional categories related to inflammation and T cell biology. [Genome Medicine]

Immune Cell Composition in Normal Human Kidneys

Normal human kidneys were obtained from radically nephrectomized patients with urogenital malignancy. Subsequently, human kidney immune cell subsets were analyzed using multicolor flow cytometry and compared with subsets from C57BL/6 or BALB/c mice under specific pathogen-free conditions.

Alternative Splicing of MR1 Regulates Antigen Presentation to MAIT Cells

Scientists found that relative expression of MR1A/MR1B transcript was associated with the prevalence of MR1 + CD4/CD8 cells in the thymus.
