Minimally Invasive Delivery of Therapeutic Agents by Hydrogel Injection into the Pericardial Cavity for Cardiac Repair

In rodent models of myocardial infarction, scientists demonstrated that intrapericardial injection was an effective and safe method to deliver hydrogels containing induced pluripotent stem cells-derived cardiac progenitor cells or MSC-derived exosomes.

Dual Anisotropicity Comprising 3D Printed Structures and Magnetic Nanoparticle Assemblies: Towards the Promotion of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Osteogenic Differentiation

The authors designed a substrate with a dual anisotropic structure fabricated via a combination of 3D printing and magnetic field-induced magnetic nanoparticle assembly techniques. These dual anisotropic structures had a scale hierarchy, and the scale of the magnetic nanoparticle assemblies matched that of a single adipose tissue-derived stem cells.

Ubiquitin-Specific Protease 53 Promotes Osteogenic Differentiation of Human Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Researchers investigated the role of ubiquitin-specific protease 53 in the osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow-derived MSCs.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Regulate Type 2 Innate Lymphoid Cells via Regulatory T Cells through ICOS‐ICOSL Interaction

The authors investigated the potential immunomodulatory effects of MSCs on group 2 innate lymphoid cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from allergic rhinitis patients and healthy subjects.

Vitamin D3 Induces Mesenchymal-to-Endothelial Transition and Promotes a Proangiogenic Niche through IGF-1 Signaling

Investigators examined the influence of vitamin D3 (VitD3) on the angiogenic potential of MSCs. VitD3 treatment increased the expression of proangiogenic molecules in MSCs, which exhibited an endothelial cell-like phenotype and promoted vascularization in vitro and in vivo.

Identification of Suitable Reference Genes for Mesenchymal Stem Cells from Menstrual Blood of Women with Endometriosis

Researchers used stringent case and control selection criteria and collected menstrual blood from women with a laparoscopic diagnosis of advanced endometriosis and from fertile women without endometriosis.

Intra-Vital Imaging of Mesenchymal Stromal Cell Kinetics in the Pulmonary Vasculature during Infection

Investigators examined the kinetics of intravascularly administered mesenchymal stem/stromal cells in the pulmonary vasculature using a microfluidic system in vitro and intra-vital microscopy of intact mouse lung.

USP34 Regulates Tooth Root Morphogenesis by Stabilizing NFIC

The authors showed that ubiquitin-specific protease 34 (USP34) plays a pivotal role in root formation. Deletion of Usp34 in dental mesenchymal cells led to short root anomaly, characterized by truncated roots and thin root dentin.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Alleviate Experimental Immune-Mediated Liver Injury via Chitinase 3-Like Protein 1-Mediated T Cell Suppression

Downregulating chitinase-3-like protein 1 mitigated the ability of human umbilical cord-MSCs to inhibit T cell activation, proliferation and inflammatory cytokine secretion in vitro.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Overexpressing BMP-9 by CRISPR-Cas9 Present High In Vitro Osteogenic Potential and Enhance In Vivo Bone Formation

Scientists genetically edited MSCs to overexpress bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP-9) using CRISPR-Cas9 to generate iMSCs-VPRBMP-9+, followed by in vitro evaluation of osteogenic potential and in vivo enhancement of bone formation in rat calvaria defects.
