A Grip-1–EZH2 Switch Binding to Gata-4 Is Linked to the Genesis of Rhabdomyosarcoma through miR-29a

Researchers presented that GATA-4 recruited polycomb group proteins such as EZH2 to negatively regulate miR-29a in undifferentiated C2C12 myoblast cells, whereas recruitment of GRIP-1 to GATA-4 proteins displaced EZH2, resulting in the activation of miR-29a during myogenic differentiation.

Doxorubicin Causes Ferroptosis and Cardiotoxicity by Intercalating into Mitochondrial DNA and Disrupting Alas1-Dependent Heme Synthesis

Investigators found that the accumulation of doxorubicin and iron in mitochondria cooperatively induced ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes and suggested that 5-ALA could be used as a potential therapeutic agent for doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy.

    Abstract

Polysulfide Protects against Diabetic Cardiomyopathy through Sulfhydration of PPARγ and Sirt-3

Na2S4, a polysulfide donor, was used to study the therapeutic effects of polysulfide in diabetic cardiomyopathy. result. Results showed that Na2S4 protected cardiomyocytes against high glucose-induced cardiomyocyte injury.

    Abstract

Gasdermin D Mediates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress via FAM134B to Regulate Cardiomyocyte Autophagy and Apoptosis in Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity

Investigators found that doxorubicin (DOX) treatment resulted in increased apoptosis and pyroptosis in cardiomyocytes and that caspase-11/GSDMD could mediate DOX-induced cardiotoxicity injury.

Irisin and ALCAT1 Mediated Aerobic Exercise-Alleviated Oxidative Stress and Apoptosis in Skeletal Muscle of Mice with Myocardial Infarction

Fndc5−/− and Alcat1−/− mice were used to establish a myocardial infarction model. C2C12 cells were treated with H2O2 and recombinant human Irisin or transduced with a lentiviral vector to mediate the overexpression of ALCAT1.

Function of Connexin 43 and RhoA/LIMK2/Cofilin Signaling Pathway in Transient Changes of Contraction and Dilation of Human Umbilical Arterial Smooth Muscle Cells

Scientists explored the role of connexin 43-gap junctions during peri-induction blood pressure fluctuation and elucidated the underlying mechanisms by pretreating human umbilical arterial smooth muscle cells with short-term Angiotensin Ⅱ to simulate transient contraction and dilation of vascular smooth muscle cells.

    Abstract

Vaspin Alleviates the lncRNA LEF1-AS1-Induced Osteogenic Differentiation of Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells via the Hippo/Yap Signaling Pathway

Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blotting analysis indicated that LEF1-AS1 overexpression significantly upregulated osteogenic marker Runt-related transcription factor-2 levels and downregulated vascular smooth muscle cell contractile marker α-smooth muscle actin levels.
