    TOP STORY

Human Microglia States Are Conserved across Experimental Models and Regulate Neural Stem Cell Responses in Chimeric Organoids

Xenotransplantation of human microglia into cerebral organoids allowed us to characterize key transcriptional programs of developing microglia in vitro and revealed that microglia induced transcriptional changes in neural stem cells and decrease interferon signaling response genes.

FOXC1 Modulates Stem-Like Cell Properties and Chemoresistance through Hedgehog and EMT Signaling in Gastric Adenocarcinoma

The function of the only gene overexpressed in both chemoresistant tumors and tumor tissue relative to normal gastric epithelia, FOXC1, was examined in gastric adenocarcinoma cells, mouse xenograft models, and patient-derived organoid systems, focusing on cancer stem-like cell phenotypes, metastasis, and chemoresistance

Limosilactobacillus reuteri ATCC 6475 Metabolites Upregulate the Serotonin Transporter in the Intestinal Epithelium

The authors reported that the intestinal commensal microbe Limosilactobacillus reuteri ATCC PTA 6475 secretes 83.4 mM ethanol. Consistent with the activity of L. reuteri alcohol dehydrogenases, they found that L. reuteri tolerated various levels of ethanol.
