    TOP STORY

Human Distal Lung Maps and Lineage Hierarchies Reveal a Bipotent Progenitor

In a non-human primate model of lung injury, along with human organoids and tissue specimens, scientists showed that alveolar type-2 cells in regenerating lungs transiently acquired an alveolar type-0 state from which they could differentiate into either alveolar type-1 cells or respiratory bronchiole-secretory cells.

HIF-1α Inhibitor PX-478 Preserves Pancreatic β Cell Function in Diabetes

In response to PX-478 treatment, human islet organoids chronically exposed to high glucose presented improved stimulation index of glucose-induced insulin secretion.

Hydrogels Derived from Decellularized Liver Tissue Support the Growth and Differentiation of Cholangiocyte Organoids

Tthe culture and expansion of human cholangiocyte organoids in liver extracellular matrix-derived hydrogels is described. These hydrogels supported proliferation of cholangiocyte organoids and maintain the cholangiocyte-like phenotype.

Regeneration of Spermatogenesis by Mouse Germ Cell Transplantation into Allogeneic and Xenogeneic Testis Primordia or Organoids

The authors microinjected mouse spermatogonial stem cells into embryonic gonads or reaggregated neonatal testis organoids, which were transplanted under the tunica albuginea of mature testes.

Antioxidant and Lipid Supplementation Improve the Development of Photoreceptor Outer Segments in Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Retinal Organoids

Using new protocols for hPSC-derived retinal organoid culture, scientists demonstrated improved outer segment formation for both rod and cone photoreceptors, including organized stacked discs.
