Laminin Matrix Regulates Beta-Cell FGFR5 Expression to Enhance Glucose-Stimulated Metabolism

Using a genetically encoded sensor for NADPH/NADP+ redox state, investigators showed that overexpression of FGFR5 enhanced glucose-stimulated NADPH metabolism in beta-cell lines as well as mouse and human beta-cells

Efficacy of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 and Estrogen Dual Agonist in Pancreatic Islets Protection and Pre-Clinical Models of Insulin-Deficient Diabetes

Scientists studied the efficacy of a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and estrogen dual agonist (GLP1-E2) in pancreatic islet protection. GLP1-E2 provided superior protection from insulin-deficient diabetes induced by multiple low-dose streptozotocin and by the Akita mutation in mice than a GLP-1 monoagonist.

Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cells Employ Integrin α6β4 to Form Hemidesmosomes and Regulate Cell Proliferation

To identify the integrin adhesion systems that operate in PDAC, the authors analyzed a range of pancreatic ductal epithelial cell models using 2D, 3D and organoid culture systems.

Identification of Distinct Slow Mode of Reversible Adaptation of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma to the Prolonged Acidic pH Microenvironment

PDAC cells used a distinct and lengthy process of reversible adaptive plasticity centered on the early fast and later slow mitochondrial network dynamics and metabolic adjustment.

ZMAT1 Acts as a Tumor Suppressor in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma by Inducing SIRT3/p53 Signaling Pathway

Multiple bioinformatics analyses were used to evaluate zinc finger matrin-type 1 (ZMAT1) expression and potential role in PDAC. In vitro and in vivo studies were performed to assess the effects of ZMAT1 on PDAC cells growth.

Solasonine Inhibits Pancreatic Cancer Progression With Involvement of Ferroptosis Induction

Pancreatic cancer cells were used to verify the in vitro and in vivo effects of solasonine. Metabolomics were used to evaluate its underlying mechanisms. Solasonine promoted PANC-1 and CFPAC-1 cell apoptosis while inhibiting their proliferation, migration and invasion.

m6A RNA Demethylase FTO Promotes the Growth, Migration and Invasion of Pancreatic Cancer Cells through Inhibiting TFPI-2

Knockdown of fat mass and obesity-related protein (FTO) increased m6A methylation of TFPI-2 mRNA in pancreatic cancer (PC) cells, which increased mRNA stability via the m6A reader YTHDF1, resulting in up-regulation of TFPI-2 expression, and inhibited PC proliferation, colony formation, sphere formation, migration and invasion in vitro.
