Architecture of Androgen Receptor Pathways Amplifying Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Insulinotropic Action in Male Pancreatic β Cells

Scientists identified androgen receptor genomic and non-genomic actions that enhance glucagon-like peptide-1-stimulated insulin exocytosis in male β cells.

β-Cell Specific E2f1 Deficiency Impairs Glucose Homeostasis, β-Cell Identity, and Insulin Secretion

Investigators explored the cell autonomous role of the cell cycle regulator and transcription factor E2F1 in the maintenance of β-cell identity, insulin secretion, and glucose homeostasis.

Diterpenoids and Their Glycosides From the Stems of Tinospora crispa with Beta-Cell Protective Activity

Seven previously undescribed diterpenoids, tinocrisposides A–D and borapetic acids A, B, and C, together with 16 known compounds, were isolated from the stem of Tinospora crispa. The β-cell protective effect of the compounds was examined on insulin-secreting BRIN-BD11 cells under dexamethasone treatment.

DYRK1A Inhibitors Leucettines and TGF-β Inhibitor Additively Stimulate Insulin Production in Beta Cells, Organoids, and Isolated Mouse Islets

Scientists showed that leucettines, known to be dual-specific tyrosine-(Y) phosphorylation regulated kinase

(DYRK1A) inhibitors, could improve glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in rodent β-cells and isolated islets, as well as in human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived β-cells islets.

Single-Nucleus Multi-Omics of Human Stem Cell-Derived Islets Identifies Deficiencies in Lineage Specification

The authors provided an analysis that enabled the derivation of gene lists and activity for identifying each human pluripotent stem cell-derived islets-islet cell type compared with primary islets.

METTL3 Promotes Pancreatic Cancer Proliferation and Stemness by Increasing Stability of ID2 mRNA in a m6A-Dependent Manner

Investigators examined the role that methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) played in pancreatic cancer cell proliferation and stemness. They discovered that in pancreatic cancer cells, METTL3-mediated N6-methyladenosine (m6A) alterations regulated ID2 as a downstream target.

    Abstract

Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Nonreceptor Type 2 Exerts Antimetastatic Functions in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

Researchers found protein tyrosine phosphatase nonreceptor type 2 (PTPN2) expression was downregulated in PDAC tissues, and decreased PTPN2 expression was associated with unfavorable prognosis.

    EZH2 Regulates Pancreatic Cancer Cells Through E2F1, GLI1, CDK3, and Mcm4

The regulation of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) gene on proliferation and migration of normal pancreatic cell and pancreatic cancer cell were determined by MTS, colony forming, Ki-67 antibody, scratch and, Transwell assays.
