Supercomputing Research Opens Doors for Drug Discovery
Researchers adapted a widely used existing software to allow supercomputers such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s (ORNL) Jaguar to sift through immense molecular databases and pinpoint chemical compounds as potential drug candidates. Could Alpha-2 Integrin be a Protein Predictor of Tumor Spread?

Anti-Angiogenic Effects and Mechanism of Prazosin
Alpha1-adrenoceptors antagonists (doxazosin, terazosin, prazosin) are commonly prescribed for benign prostate hyperplasia and hypertension. Doxazosin and terazosin exhibit anti-angiogenic effects and apoptotic activities against multiple cell types and are potential preventive agents for prostate cancer. Prazosin induces apoptosis in three prostate cancer cell lines. Elevated GnRH Receptor Expression Plus GnRH Agonist Treatment Inhibits the Growth of a Subset of Papillomavirus 18-Immortalized Human Prostate Cells
