Anti-Warburg Effect via Generation of ROS and Inhibition of PKM2/β-Catenin Mediates Apoptosis of Lambertianic Acid in Prostate Cancer Cells

To elucidate the underlying antitumor mechanism of lambertianic acid (LA) derived from Pinus koraiensis, the role of cancer metabolism related molecules was investigated in the apoptotic effect of LA in DU145 and PC3 prostate cancer cells.

Integrated High-Throughput Analysis Identifies Super Enhancers in Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

Super enhancer-associated genes and transcription factors were identified from a cell line of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) by the CUT&Tag assay. Differentially expressed genes between mCRPC and primary prostate cancer samples in the GSE35988 dataset were identified.

Human Embryonic Stem Cells Exert Antitumor Effects on Prostate Cancer Cells in a Co-Culture Microenvironment

To facilitate the practical application of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), scientists established a co-culture system consisting of prostate cancer cell lines and hESCs and investigated the antitumor activity of the supernatant of the co-culture system in vitro and in vivo.

CHMP4C as a Novel Marker Regulates Prostate Cancer Progression through Cycle Pathways and Contributes to Immunotherapy

Researchers investigated the expression and clinical prognosis of charged multivesicular protein (CHMP) 4C and explored its potential regulatory mechanism in prostate cancer.

Characterization of Cell Lines Derived from Prostate Cancer Patients with Localized Disease

Prostatic tissue from the primary site, and adjacent non-cancerous tissue was obtained from four patients with localized disease undergoing radical prostatectomy. Epithelial cell outgrowths were immortalized with human papillomavirus type 16 E6 and E7 to establish monoclonal cell lines.

Integrating Intracellular and Extracellular Proteomic Profiling for In-Depth Investigations of Cellular Communication in a Model of Prostate Cancer

Investigators used a cellular-based proteomics approach to more holistically profile both the intracellular and extracellular proteome of prostate cancer. Their workflow was generated in such a manner that multiple experimental conditions could be observed with the opportunity for high throughput integration.

Quercetin Can Be a More Reliable Treatment for Metastatic Prostate Cancer than the Localized Disease: An In Vitro Study

The authors evaluated the inhibitory effects of quercetin against prostate malignancy in vitro and the underlying resistance mechanism. IC50 values of quercetin were determined by MTT assay.

Inhibition of Wnt/β-Catenin Pathway Overcomes Therapeutic Resistance to Abiraterone in Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

Scientists showed that co-treatment with abiraterone and ICG001, a β-catenin inhibitor, overcame therapeutic resistance and significantly inhibited markers of stem cell and cellular proliferation in abiraterone-resistant prostate cancer cells.

Targeting XPO6 Inhibits Prostate Cancer Progression and Enhances the Suppressive Efficacy of Docetaxel

Investigators detected the expression level of XPO6 in prostate cancer tissues by immunohistochemistry and analyzed the correlation between clinicopathological characteristics and XPO6 level based on TCGA database.

A CXCR4 Inhibitor (Balixafortide) Enhances Docetaxel-Mediated Antitumor Activity in a Murine Model of Prostate Cancer Bone Metastasis

PC-3 luciferase-labeled cells were injected into the tibia of mice to model bone metastases. Four treatment groups were created: vehicle, docetaxel (5 mg/kg), balixafortide (20 mg/kg), and a combination of both.
