COBLL1 Modulates Cell Morphology and Facilitates Androgen Receptor Genomic Binding in Advanced Prostate Cancer

Scientists found that the gene cordon-bleu-like 1 (COBLL1) is highly induced by androgen receptor in castration-resistant prostate cancer model cells. The expression of COBLL1 that possessed an actin-binding domain was up-regulated in clinical prostate cancer tissues and was associated with a poor prognosis for prostate cancer patients. Oncolytic Activity of the Rhabdovirus VSV‐GP against Prostate Cancer

Scientists studied the efficacy of VSV‐GP, a vesicular stomatitis virus carrying the glycoprotein of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, against prostate cancer, for which current treatment options still fail to cure metastatic disease. A Plasma Biomarker Panel of Four MicroRNAs for the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer

Analysis of published miRNA transcriptomic data from clinical samples demonstrated low expression of miR-152-3p in tumor compared to adjacent non-malignant tissues. Overexpression of miR-152-3p increased proliferation and migration of prostate cancer cells, suggesting a role for this miRNA in prostate cancer pathogenesis, a concept that was supported by pathway analysis of predicted miR-152-3p target genes. Interleukin‐6 Induced Overexpression of Valosin‐Containing Protein (VCP)/p97 Is Associated with Androgen‐Independent Prostate Cancer (AIPC) Progression

Researchers analyzed differential protein expression in LNCaP cells treated with interleukin‐6 using proteomics. Results revealed altered expression of 27 proteins and VCP/p97 played a predominant role in co‐regulation of altered proteins. [J Cell Physiol] Abstract
