PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)Scientists showed that a patient-derived prostate-specific microbe, CP1, in combination with anti-PD-1 immunotherapy, increases survival and decreases tumor burden in orthotopic MYC– and PTEN-mutant prostate cancer models. [Nat Commun] Full Article Researchers showed that two major subtypes of advanced prostate cancer, prostate adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine prostate cancer, exhibit distinct cell-surface expression profiles. Integrated analysis of gene expression and cell-surface protein expression of prostate cancer nominated multiple subtype-specific cell-surface antigens. [Proc Natl Acad Sci USA] Full Article Scientists found that the gene cordon-bleu-like 1 (COBLL1) is highly induced by androgen receptor in castration-resistant prostate cancer model cells. The expression of COBLL1 that possessed an actin-binding domain was up-regulated in clinical prostate cancer tissues and was associated with a poor prognosis for prostate cancer patients. [Proc Natl Acad Sci USA] Abstract Autophagy-related gene 7 facilitated the transcription of OCT4 via β-catenin which bound to the OCT4 promoter, promoting cancer stem cell characteristics in prostate cancer, including self-renewal, tumor initiation and drug resistance. [Clin Cancer Res] Abstract Investigators exploited the consequences of Akt-mediated mitochondrial and glucose metabolism to selectively eradicate and evade chemoresistance of prostate cancer displaying hyperactive Akt. [eLife] Abstract | Full Article | Press Release Oncolytic Activity of the Rhabdovirus VSV‐GP against Prostate Cancer Scientists studied the efficacy of VSV‐GP, a vesicular stomatitis virus carrying the glycoprotein of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, against prostate cancer, for which current treatment options still fail to cure metastatic disease. VSV‐GP was found to infect six of seven prostate cancer cell lines with great efficacy. [Int J Cancer] Abstract A Plasma Biomarker Panel of Four MicroRNAs for the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer Analysis of published miRNA transcriptomic data from clinical samples demonstrated low expression of miR-152-3p in tumor compared to adjacent non-malignant tissues. Overexpression of miR-152-3p increased proliferation and migration of prostate cancer cells, suggesting a role for this miRNA in prostate cancer pathogenesis, a concept that was supported by pathway analysis of predicted miR-152-3p target genes. [Sci Rep] Full Article Researchers analyzed differential protein expression in LNCaP cells treated with interleukin‐6 using proteomics. Results revealed altered expression of 27 proteins and VCP/p97 played a predominant role in co‐regulation of altered proteins. [J Cell Physiol] Abstract Scientists investigated the biological function of carboxyl terminus of Hsc-70-interacting protein (CHIP) in prostate cancer cells and obtained evidence that CHIP expression is upregulated in prostate cancer tissues.
