KDM6A Epigenetically Regulates Subtype Plasticity in Small Cell Lung Cancer

Using a CRISPR-based autochthonous SCLC genetically engineered mouse model to study the consequences of KDM6A/UTX inactivation, investigators showed that KDM6A inactivation induced plasticity from ASCL1 to NEUROD1 resulting in SCLC tumors that expressed both ASCL1 and NEUROD1.

Harnessing Graphene Oxide Nanocarriers for siRNA Delivery in a 3D Spheroid Model of Lung Cancer

Scientists analyzed the efficiency of 3D spheroids combined with a minimally modified graphene oxide-based nanocarrier for siRNA delivery as a new system for cell transfection.

CYP27A1-27-Hydroxycholesterol Axis in the Respiratory System Contributes to House Dust Mite-Induced Allergic Airway Inflammation

Researchers elucidated the contribution of the axis of 27-hydroxycholesterol derived from sterol 27-hydroxylase (CYP27A1) to the pathophysiology of asthma. House dust mite extract was intranasally administered to C57BL/6 mice and the expression of CYP27A1 in the airways was analyzed by immunostaining.

Inhibitory Effects of Schisandrin C on Collagen Behavior in Pulmonary Fibrosis

Scientists established models of pulmonary fibrosis (PF) including a mouse model stimulated by bleomycin and a HFL1 cell model induced by transforming growth factor-β1 to evaluate the inhibition effects of Schisandrin C on PF.

IL-17A/p38 Signaling Pathway Induces Alveolar Epithelial Cell Pyroptosis and Hyperpermeability in Sepsis-Induced Acute Lung Injury by Activating NLRP3 Inflammasome

Investigators explored their roles and underlying mechanisms in sepsis. The amounts of Th17 cells, IL-17A, IL-1β, IL-18, and lipopolysaccharide was significantly elevated in sepsis patients.

Disruption of Iron Homeostasis to Induce Ferroptosis with Albumin-Encapsulated Pt(IV) Nanodrug for the Treatment of Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Scientists constructed a new albumin-encapsulated platinum (Pt) (IV) nanodrug (HSA@Pt(IV)) based on the Pt(IV) drug and nanodelivery system. The characterization of nanodrug and biological experiments demonstrated its excellent drug delivery and antitumor effects.

Cezanne Promoted Autophagy through PIK3C3 Stabilization and PIK3C2A Transcription in Lung Adenocarcinoma

Investigators identified Cezanne, a member of the ovarian tumor protease-deubiquitinating family, as an autophagy regulator. Cezanne was highly expressed in Osimertinib-resistant cells, and Cezanne overexpression promoted Osimertinib resistance, while chloroquine, an autophagy inhibitor, reverted this process.

METTL3 Regulatory TROAP Can Regulate the Progression of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer through PI3K/AKT and EMT Signaling Pathway

Scientists assessed the biological and clinical significance of TROAP in NSCLC. RT-qPCR, western bolt, and immunohistochemistry assay were used to test TROAP RNA and protein expression not in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) tissues and paraneoplastic tissues but in LUAD cell lines and control cell lines.

Transcription Factor FOXA1 Facilitates Glycolysis and Proliferation of Lung Adenocarcinoma via Activation of TEX19

Researchers investigated how testis expressed 19 (TEX19) works exactly in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Real-time quantitative PCR assay showed that TEX19 was significantly overexpressed in LUAD cell lines compared with normal bronchial epithelial cells BEAS-2B.
