An Atlas of Epithelial Cell States and Plasticity in Lung Adenocarcinoma

Researchers studied 246,102 single epithelial cells from 16 early-stage lung adenocarcinomas (LUADs) and 47 matched normal lung samples. Epithelial cells comprised diverse normal and cancer cell states, and diversity among cancer cells was strongly linked to LUAD-specific oncogenic drivers.

Repositioning of Ezetimibe for the Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Researchers determined whether ezetimibe has therapeutic potential against idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Primary lung fibroblasts isolated from both humans and mice were employed for mechanistic in vitro experiments.

The Effect of Combining an Inhaled Corticosteroid and a Long-Acting Muscarinic Antagonist on Human Airway Epithelial Cells In Vitro

Scientists investigated the effects of passive sensitization on IL-5, NF-κB, HDAC-2, ACh, and ChAT in human bronchial epithelial cells and the effects of fluticasone furoate and umeclidinium alone and in combination on these responses.

Ferroptotic Alveolar Epithelial Type II Cells Drive TH2 and TH17 Mixed Asthma Triggered by Birch Pollen Allergen Bet v 1

Investigators identified ferroptosis of type II alveolar epithelial cells in mice with Bet v 1-induced asthma. Further analysis revealed that treatment with ferrostatin-1 reduced TH2/TH17-related inflammation and alleviated epithelial damage in mice with Bet v 1-induced asthma.

Multidimensional Assessment of the Biological Effects of Electronic Cigarettes on Lung Bronchial Epithelial Cells

Scientists investigated the effects of cigarette smoke and e-cigarette smoke of different flavors on human lung bronchial epithelial cells. Real-time smoke exposure was carried out using an air–liquid interface system, and cell viability was assessed.

BCL6 Attenuates Hyperoxia-Induced Lung Injury by Inhibiting NLRP3-Mediated Inflammation in Fetal Mouse

Investigators explored the roles of B cell lymphoma 6 (BCL6) in the progression of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and its downstream mechanisms.

Adeno-to-Squamous Transition Drives Resistance to KRAS Inhibition in LKB1 Mutant Lung Cancer

Scientists identified an intermediate high-plastic cell state marked by the expression of an AST plasticity signature and Krt6a. Notably, expression of the AST plasticity signature and KRT6A at baseline correlated with poor adagrasib responses.

Vitamin C Inhibited Pulmonary Metastasis through Activating Nrf2/HO-1 Pathway

In order to verify the anticancer and antimetastatic effect of vitamin C, researchers set up H22 pulmonary metastasis mouse model.

    Abstract

Single-Cell and Bulk RNA Sequencing Data Jointly Reveals VDAC2′s Impacts on Prognosis and Immune Landscape of NSCLC

NSCLC cell clusters were extracted from single cell-sequencing dataset GSE131907, which were combined with hypoxia-related genes to group clusters. qRT-PCR and western blot were used to validate the expression of target gene.
