    Mucin 1 (MUC1) Signaling Contributes to Increase the Resistance to Cell Death in Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells Exposed to Nickel Acetate
    Since ErbBs are closely associated to MUC1, a glycoprotein component of airway mucus that is overexpressed in lung tumors, researchers investigated the role of this signaling system in the survival response of airway epithelial cells against nickel acetate-induced cell death.     Functional and Pharmacological Characterization of Volume-Regulated Anion Channels in Human Normal and Cystic Fibrosis Bronchial and Nasal Epithelial Cells
    Scientists compared the biophysical features and pharmacological profiles of volume-regulated anion channels currents in healthy and cystic fibrosis respiratory epithelial cells in order to characterize these currents both functionally and pharmacologically. [Eur J Pharmacol] Abstract

    Genotypically Defined β-Lactamase Negative Ampicillin Resistant Isolates of Non-Typeable Haemophilus influenzae Are Associated with Increased Invasion of Bronchial Epithelial Cells In Vitro
    Scientists investigated the association between the presence of altered penicillin binding protein 3 in non-typeable H. influenzae and an increased capacity to invade bronchial epithelial cells in vitro. [J Med Microbiol] Abstract

    Activation of Nrf2 Pathways Correlates with Resistance of NSCLC Cell Lines to CBP501 In Vitro
    Researchers found that multiple nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor2 (Nrf2) target genes showed high expression in CBP501-insensitive cell lines. Western blot and immunocytochemical analysis for Nrf2 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell lines also indicated higher protein level in CBP501 insensitive cell lines.     Effects of Lentivirus-Mediated RNAi Knockdown of NEDD9 on Human Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells In Vitro and In Vivo

    Immunomodulatory Effect of Melatonin in SK-LU-1 Human Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells Co-Cultured with Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells

    Fibroblast Growth Factor-Inducible 14 Regulates Cell Growth and Multidrug Resistance of Small-Cell Lung Cancer through the Nuclear Factor-κB Pathway
    Expression of fibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 (Fn14) was examined in 51 cases of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) tissues by immunohistochemistry. Overexpression or knockdown of Fn14 was carried out in SCLC multidrug-resistant cell lines and the parental cell lines to assess its influence on cell growth and chemoresistance.
