Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells Derived Exosome Shuttling Mir-129-5p Attenuates Inflammatory Bowel Disease by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

Researchers used small RNA sequencing to find that miR-129-5p was highly expressed in human umbilical cord MSC-derived exosomes, and by predicting its targeting to ACSL4, verified the effect of miR-129-5p on mice inflammatory bowel disease in vivo and human colonic epithelial cells in vitro.

In Vitro and In Vivo Evaluation of Electrospun Poly (ε-Caprolactone)/Collagen Scaffolds and Wharton’s Jelly Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (hWJ-MSCs) Constructs As Potential Alternative for Skin Tissue Engineering

Findings demonstrated that collagen incorporation in the scaffolds produced fibers with similar diameters to those in the human native extracellular matrix, increased wettability, and enhanced the presence of nitrogen on the scaffold surface, improving cell adhesion and proliferation.

Influence of Umbilical Cord Blood Biochemical Parameters and Disease Condition on the Expression of the TSG-6 Gene in Umbilical Mesenchymal Stem Cells

MSCs were isolated enzymatically from umbilical cord Wharton’s jelly, in vitro cultured, and characterized using flow cytometry; qPCR was performed to assess expression of the studied genes.

An Indian Perspective for Umbilical Cord Blood Haematological Parameters Reference Interval

About 2 – 3 mL of cord blood was collected from the clamped cord into EDTA tubes from 127 term neonates. The samples were analyzed in the hematology laboratory of the institute and the data was analyzed.
