Scientists identified an aging-dependent mechanism that relied on the CXCL13-dependent recruitment and activation of CXCR5+CD8+ T cells in proximity to sensory neurons that restricted axonal regeneration after nerve injury after communication with MHC I–presenting dorsal root ganglia neurons.
