A Hyaluronan and Proteoglycan Link Protein 1 Matrikine: Role of Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 in Multiple Myeloma NF-κB Activation and Drug Resistance

Scientists found that multiple myeloma (MM) cells promoted hyaluronan and proteoglycan link protein 1 expression and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)2 activity in co-cultured bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and that MMP2 activity was higher in BMSCs established from MM patients’ bone marrow aspirates relative to normal equivalents.
