Scientists reported that in human monocytes/macrophages, CXCL4 initiated signaling cascades and downstream epigenomic reprogramming that changed the profile of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) 8 response by selectively amplifying inflammatory gene transcription and interleukin−1β production, while partially attenuating the interferon response.
