Alcohol-Induced Extracellular Asc Specks Perpetuate Liver Inflammation and Damage in Alcoholic Hepatitis Even after Alcohol Cessation

The authors showed that while chronic alcohol induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation in the liver, alcohol binge resulted not only in NLRP3 inflammasome activation but also in increased circulating extracellular ASC specks and hepatic ASC aggregates.
