Self-assembling nanoparticles (NPs) composed of amphiphilic polymers were introduced to encapsulate organic Selenium compound L-Se-methylselenocysteine (SeMC) and form SeMC NPs, which protected the viabilities and functions of cultured hepatocytes in drug- or chemical-induced acute hepatotoxicity models.
