Scientists used mice of Elane-knockout and wild-type, and their primary mouse hepatocytes to establish metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) models in vivo and in vitro for elucidating the role of Elane in ferroptosis of hepatocytes and MAFLD development.
