    TOP STORY

Non-Viral, Specifically Targeted CAR-T Cells Achieve High Safety and Efficacy in B-NHL

Researchers successfully developed a two-in-one approach to generate non-viral, gene-specific targeted CAR-T cells through CRISPR–Cas9. Using the optimized protocol, they demonstrated feasibility in a preclinical study by inserting an anti-CD19 CAR cassette into the AAVS1 safe-harbor locus.

Multifunctional mRNA-Based CAR T Cells Display Promising Anti-Tumor Activity against Glioblastoma

Investigators generated mouse and human mRNA-based multifunctional T cells co-expressing a multitargeting CAR based on the NKG2D receptor and the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL12 and IFNa2 and assessed their anti-glioma activity in vitro and in vivo.

Feasibility and Preclinical Efficacy of CD7-Unedited CD7 CAR T Cells for T-Cell Malignancies

Researchers showed fratricide of CD7 CAR T-cells could be fully prevented using ibrutinib and dasatinib, the pharmacologic inhibitors of key CAR/CD3ζ signaling kinases.

Stem Cell Therapy Improves Human Islet Graft Survival in Mice via Regulation of Macrophages

Scientists assessed the mechanisms of how intrahepatic co-infusion of human alpha-1 antitrypsin-engineered mesenchymal stromal cells improved survival of human islet grafts post-transplantation.

Development of a Novel Method for Measuring Tissue Oxygen Pressure to Improve the Hypoxic Condition in Subcutaneous Islet Transplantation

Researchers developed a novel optical sensor system, instead of a conventional Clark-type needle probe, for measuring tissue oxygen partial pressure (pO2) and found that pO2 of the subcutaneous space was extremely low in comparison to other sites.
