Investigators reported a strategy through which cotransplantation of allogeneic islets and streptavidin–FasL–presenting microgels to the omentum under transient rapamycin monotherapy resulted in robust glycemic control, sustained C-peptide levels, and graft survival in diabetic nonhuman primates for over six months.
