Investigators studied the expression and function of Orai1 in human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (hPASMCs) isolated from patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). They discovered that Orai1 contributed to pathological phenotypes in PAH-hPASMCs, as well as pulmonary remodeling.
