Scientists interrogated metabolites that were preferentially secreted from glioma stem cells (GSCs) and found that GSCs produced and secreted histamine to shape a pro-angiogenic tumor microenvironment. This histamine-producing ability was attributed to H3K4me3 modification-activated histidine decarboxylase transcription via MYC.
