Researchers leveraged Hofstenia miamia, a regenerative worm that possesses collectively pluripotent adult PSCs called neoblasts and produces manipulable embryos. Lineage tracing and functional experiments revealed that one pair of blastomeres gave rise to cells that resembled neoblasts in distribution, behavior, and gene expression.
