Analyzing human gasdermin D (GSDMD) variants showed that most people were susceptible to Zika virus (ZIKV)-induced cytotoxicity, except for those with variants that resisted ZIKV cleavage or were defective in oligomerizing the N-terminus GSDMD cleavage product.
