The authors investigated the role of actomyosin contractility in cardiomyocyte cell cycle arrest, by conditionally-activating ROCK2 kinase domain in the murine postnatal heart. They showed that α5/β1 integrin and fibronectin matrix increased in response to actomyosin-mediated tension.
