Investigators examined the metabolic impact of vanadium pentoxide (V+5) at relevant dietary and environmental doses in human lung fibroblasts (HLF) and male C57BL/6J mice. Untargeted metabolomics using liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry showed that V+5 induced significant metabolic perturbations in both HLF cells and mouse lungs.
