Human Pulmonary Microvascular Endothelial Cell DDAH1-Mediated NO Production Promotes Pulmonary Smooth Muscle Cell Apoptosis in Co-Culture

The authors hypothesized that dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase-1 (DDAH1) knockdown in human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells would result in lower NO production, decreased apoptosis, and greater proliferation of human pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells.
