The researchers’ scaffold featured a distinct layered nano-hydroxyapatite/chitosan layered composite scaffold composite structure with intervals ranging from 50 to 200 μm, which provided a conducive environment for human bone marrow MSCs adhesion and proliferation, allowing for in situ growth of newly formed bone tissue.
