Tenascin-C Expressing Touch Dome Keratinocytes Exhibit Characteristics of All Epidermal Lineages

ScRNA-seq identified a specific touch dome keratinocyte marker, Tenascin-C (TNC). Lineage tracing of Tnc-expressing touch dome keratinocytes revealed that these cells maintained themselves as an autonomous epidermal compartment and gave rise to Merkel cells upon injury.
