Researchers demonstrated that methyltransferase-like 3 was highly expressed in CD44(+) cells and promoted CSCs phenotype. Using RNA-sequencing analysis, they showed that Spalt-like transcription factor 4 (SALL4) was involved in the maintenance of CSCs properties.
