Researchers reported that Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection supported HPV persistence by further suppressing the functions of Langerhans cells (LCs); in particular, CT further activated the PI3K pathway and inhibited the MAPK pathways in LCs, and these pathways were frequently involved in the regulation of immune responses.
