Scientists investigated the role of the podoplanin-platelet C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2) interaction in melanoma pulmonary metastasis, and reported that the platelet Syk-dependent signaling pathway contributed to platelet aggregation and melanoma metastasis.
