Actomyosin-II Protects Axons from Degeneration Induced by Mild Mechanical Stress

Through pharmacological and molecular manipulations in vitro, the authors reported that actomyosin-II inactivation diminished the reversible beading process, fostered progressive Ca2+ spreading and thereby increased acute axonal degeneration in stressed axons.
