Functionally, interferon-γ (IFNγ)-enhanced CD47 expression facilitated human lung cancer cell invasion both in vitro and in vivo, whereas IFNγ-induced CD47 upregulation and cancer metastasis were blocked by mutating the interferon regulatory factor-1 (IRF1)-binding site within CD47 promoter.
