The Role of Zfp352 in the Regulation of Transient Expression of 2-Cell Specific Genes in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells
[Genes to Cells] Investigators reported a novel function of Zfp352, one of the 2-cell specific genes, in regulating the 2CLC sub-population. They suggested the dual roles of Zfp352 in regulating the transient activation of the 2-cell-specific genes.

Oxidized IL-33 Drives COPD Epithelial Pathogenesis via ST2-Independent RAGE/EGFR Signaling Complex
[European Respiratory Journal] In vitro epithelial damage assays and three-dimensional, air–liquid interface cell culture models of healthy and COPD epithelia were used to elucidate the functional role of IL-33ox.

Exogenous Ang-(1–7) Inhibits Autophagy via HIF-1α/THBS1/BECN1 Axis to Alleviate Chronic Intermittent Hypoxia-Enhanced Airway Remodelling of Asthma
[Cell Death Discovery] Scientists explored how chronic intermittent hypoxia aggravated asthma and the mechanism of protective effects of Ang-(1-7) on airway remodeling, with a focus on autophagy.

Excretory/Secretory Products from Schistosoma japonicum Eggs Alleviate Ovalbumin-Induced Allergic Airway Inflammation
[PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases] Researchers investigated the protective effects of excretory/secretory products from Schistosoma japonicum eggs on asthmatic inflammation. They established an allergic airway inflammation model in mice by alum-adjuvanted ovalbumin sensitization and challenge.

Propionate Reinforces Epithelial Identity and Reduces Aggressiveness of Lung Carcinoma
[EMBO Molecular Medicine] Scientists used an epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-focused integrative functional genomic approach and identified an inverse association between short-chain fatty acids and EMT in NSCLC patients.
