Focal Adhesion Kinase–Related Pathways May Be Suppressed by Metformin in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells in High Glucose Conditions

The focal adhesion kinase (FAK) gene expression levels and phosphorylated FAK protein values were evaluated in vascular smooth muscle cells treated with different doses of metformin, based on cell viability using quantitative reverse transcription PCR, western blotting and methyl thiazol tetrazolium techniques.
