Scientists showed that the depletion of CD206+ M2-like macrophages (MΦ) promotes skeletal muscle regeneration, as well as that depletion of CD206+ M2-like MΦ during the early phase of repair considerably accelerated the recovery of the injured skeletal muscle through activation of fibroadipogenic progenitors.
