Researchers showed that indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) inhibition led to an adverse protection of melanoma cells to T cell-derived interferon-gamma. RNA sequencing and ribosome profiling showed that IFNγ shut down general protein translation, which was reversed by IDO1 inhibition.
