Scientists found that significant percentages of lymphocytes were not derived from HSCs. Multiple waves of hematopoiesis occured from embryonic day (E) 7.5 to E11.5 endothelial cells, which simultaneously produced HSCs and lymphoid progenitors in adult mice.
