Identification of the SRC-Family Tyrosine Kinase HCK as a Therapeutic Target in Mantle Cell Lymphoma

Investigators showed that the SRC-family tyrosine kinase hematopoietic cell kinase (HCK), which is primarily expressed in the hematopoietic lineage but not in mature B cells, was aberrantly expressed in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), and that high expression of HCK was associated with inferior prognosis of MCL patients.

Regulation of Heterogeneous Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts: The Molecular Pathology of Activated Signaling Pathways

Pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as leukemia inhibitory factor and interleukin-6, were secreted by both cancer cells and cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and mediated the epigenetic modification of CAFs. This enhanced the pro-tumorigenic function of CAFs mediated by promoting actomyosin contractility and ECM remodeling to form the tracks used for collective cancer cell migration.
