Treatment with either of two bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) inhibitors reduced hepatic triglyceride content in diabetic mice. BMP inhibitor-induced decrease in hepatic triglyceride levels was associated with decreased mRNA encoding Dgat2, an enzyme integral to triglyceride synthesis.
