%2845%25%20wild%20type%20and%2055%25%20mutant%29.%20High%20level%20of%20stalk%20antibody%20titers%20was%20associated%20with%20the%20selection%20of%20the%20mutant%20virus%20both%20in%20humans%20and%20in%20vitro.%20Although%20the%20mutant%20virus%20showed%20slightly%20decreased%20replication%20in%20mice%2C%20it%20was%20not%20observed%20in%20cell%20culture%2C%20ferrets%20or%20human%20challenge%20participants.%20The%20A388V%20mutation%20conferred%20resistance%20to%20some%20of%20the%20potent%20HA%20stalk%20broadly%20neutralizing%20monoclonal%20antibodies%20%28bNAbs%29.%20Co-culture%20of%20wild-type%20and%20mutant%20viruses%20in%20the%20presence%20of%20either%20a%20bNAb%20or%20human%20serum%20resulted%20in%20rapid%20expansion%20of%20the%20mutant.%20These%20data%20shed%20light%20on%20a%20potential%20obstacle%20for%20the%20success%20of%20HA-stalk-targeting%20universal%20influenza%20vaccines%5Cu2014viral%20escape%20from%20vaccine-induced%20stalk%20immunity.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222020-06-29%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22en%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1038%5C%2Fs41591-020-0937-x%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%221546-170X%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fwww.nature.com%5C%2Farticles%5C%2Fs41591-020-0937-x%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222020-06-29T16%3A26%3A46Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
