By generating a potentially novel endothelial specific Dgke-knockout mouse, researchers demonstrated that loss of Dgke in the endothelium resulted in impaired signaling downstream of VEGFR2 due to cellular shortage of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-biphosphate.
