Parvovirus B19 (B19V) Induces Cellular Senescence in Human Dermal Fibroblasts: Putative Role in SSc-Associated Fibrosis

The authors demonstrated that B19V-infected fibroblasts developed typical senescence features such as enlarged and flat-shaped morphology and senescence-associated beta-galactosidase activity similar to that observed in systemic sclerosis (SSc) skin fibroblasts.
